Standby Generation
Standby generation not only provides outage protection for your business, but also provides rate savings opportunities. Standby generators continually monitor utility power and will automatically start and transfer your facility to the generator if loss of power is detected. Ultimately it provides a secondary source of power during unexpected outages.

Benefits and Savings

  • During peak (or high) energy demand periods MVEC will remotely and automatically start your generator and transfer your facility from the utility to your generator. This is done by sending a signal to the energy management switch. When the peak demand period is over, another signal is sent to switch the generator back to the normal utility service.
  • By transferring your energy it reduces demand on the system during peaks. A large portion of the cost of electricity is based on peak demand usage; MVEC can lower your electrical rate through this type of load management program.
  • Achieve real dollar savings over MVEC’s standard commercial and industrial rates and enjoy these monthly rate savings by signing up for MVEC’s “Peak Alert” program with a standby generator.
  • MVEC can provide complete turnkey installations of your generator or we can work with your choice of contractors and vendors.
