In light of the current health situation facing our country, and in doing our part in helping slow down the COVID-19 coronavirus, Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative has made the decision to postpone our Annual Meeting, which was to be held April 7 at the Arlington Community Center.
Our bylaws allow for postponement of the Annual Meeting. The election process will continue as usual. If you reside in District I or III, you previously were sent ballots for the Board of Director election. Since there is no onsite voting this year, we ask that you mail your ballot back to us in the provided postage-paid envelope. Only ballots received by April 7, 2020, will be counted.
Once certified, election results will be available at on this website and sent as an email from the Cooperative.
We thank you for understanding and send our sincere wishes for your welfare and safety during this challenging time.
All three districts have a seat open on the Board of Directors. In District I, candidates are incumbent Brent Lawrence of Credit River Township and Barbara Marschall of Prior Lake. In District II, incumbent Michelle Morrison is unopposed. In District III, candidates are incumbent Fran Barten of New Prague and Terese (Terri) Gulstad of Prior Lake. See candidate bios here
Since there is no race in District II, ballots were mailed to homes or businesses in Districts I and III in early March.
MVEC’s 2020 scholarship winners and Youth Tour representative will receive their certificates of achievement and other instructions by mail.
