Rebates for 2010:
Qualifications and details
- Rebates are only available to members who sign up for a residential
Energy Wise program(s) - this excludes
appliance rebates.
- Rebates for air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps vary
depending on the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). NOTE: contractors
installing an air source heat pump are required to be QI (Quality Installation)
certified and must complete a QI rebate form for the member to receive
the rebate.
- Rebate grace periods vary. Energy Wise installations for air source
heat pumps and electric resistive heating products must be completed
within six months of the purchase date to qualify for existing rebates.
Ground source heat pumps must be completed within 90 days from the date
of purchase to qualify for existing rebates.
- Heat pumps must be central systems to operate on Energy Wise programs
and qualify for MVEC rebates. Mini splits do not qualify as a central
system.
- Whole house heating - including heat pumps, plenum heaters and other
whole house heating options requires a member to have an adequate and
automatic back-up heat source to qualify for rebate and the Energy Wise
program.
- Rebates are offered for a limited time and are subject to change without
notice.
- Rebates are honored on a first come, first served basis.
- Rebates will be paid out after your product is installed to an Energy
Wise program.
- Once rebate is paid members are required to stay on the Energy Wise
program for a minimum of one year.
- Member must submit a copy of the sales receipt and an MVEC rebate
form. All paperwork can be mailed to: MVEC, c/o Rebate paperwork, 125
Minnesota Valley Electric Drive, Jordan, MN 55352.

Residential Energy Star Air Source Heat Pumps and Ground Source Heat Pumps
For members to receive rebate dollars for an Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP)
the contractor must be QI certified. The contractor is responsible for
completing a residential ASHP rebate application.
- The installation of an Energy Star Air Source Heat Pump or Ground
Source Heat Pump requires the contractor to be QI certified for the
member to receive the rebate.
- Heat pumps must be central systems to operate on Energy Wise programs
and qualify for MVEC rebates. Mini splits do not qualify as a central
system.
- Rebate available: $350 for Air Source Heat Pump
> SEER 13 or higher
Rebate Applications:
- Your contractor needs to submit a residential ASHP rebate application
- Installation must be completed within 6 months from the date of
purchase to qualify for rebate offers.
> $200/ton for Ground Source Heat Pump
- Ground Source Heat Pump Application
> Installation must be completed within 90 days from the date of
purchase to qualify for rebate offers.

- Baseboard heaters
- Cove heaters
- Garage heaters
- In-floor Boilers
- Plenum heaters
- Electric thermal storage units
- Forced air
- Rebate available: $10.00/kW
- Application
