High temperatures across Minnesota this week have increased energy use and placed added demand on the power grid. Members are encouraged to conserve energy when possible to help support reliable service for everyone.
Here are a few easy ways to help:
- Set your thermostat a few degrees higher if comfortable, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours.
- Delay running large appliances such as dishwashers, dryers, and washing machines until later in the evening.
- Keep blinds and curtains closed during the day.
- Turn off lights, electronics, and other devices when not in use.
- Grill outdoors or use a microwave instead of the oven when possible.
- Keep exterior doors and windows closed while your air conditioner is running.
We appreciate your support as we work together to use energy wisely during this stretch of hot summer weather. Check out our Savings Page for more energy-saving tips.
