As temperatures drop, energy demand across MVEC’s service area increases. During frigid weather, MVEC will use load management to help manage peak demand and maintain overall system reliability.
Load control is a common practice among electric cooperatives during periods of extreme weather. By temporarily reducing demand on certain electric loads during peak usage times, MVEC can reduce strain on the electric grid, help prevent system overloads, and support reliable service for all members.
