Gopher State One Call: 8-1-1
Planting a tree, starting a new flowerbed, adding a patio, or installing a mailbox or fence? It’s important to make sure you aren’t about to dig into any wires. Many utilities are buried only inches underground, so it’s easier than you may think to hit a line if you don’t get them located before your project.
Gopher State One Call will ask for detailed information about your project, including:
- The type of work planned
- The location of the site
- The estimated duration of the project
- The legal description of the property
If underground utilities are present in your project area, the utility companies will mark the location of their lines with spray paint or flags before you begin work.
Simply call 8-1-1
It’s free, it can save lives, and it can prevent costly damage.
