MVEC team member killed in a worksite accident
May 10, 2022
A Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative lineman has been killed in a skid loader accident while on the job. The accident occurred 9:12 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Le Sueur County near the intersection of Highway 99 and County Road 140, where MVEC crews are working on a power line project.
Tanner Korey Dosch, 23, of Belle Plaine, had been employed as an apprentice lineman at the Co-op since October 2020. MVEC employees on the scene immediately began providing First Aid care, followed by Montgomery EMS and North Memorial Air Ambulance personnel. Sadly, Tanner was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“Working as a lineman is an honorable profession. Our linemen work in potentially dangerous situations every day,” said Ryan Hentges, MVEC’s CEO. “Today that danger became all too real. Tanner was a valued member of our team. This is a very sad time, and Tanner’s family is in our thoughts and prayers.”
The accident remains under investigation by MVEC, the Minnesota State Patrol, and the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration, assisted by the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office. Other agencies that responded to the scene included the Montgomery Ambulance Service, Montgomery Fire and Rescue, Montgomery Police Department, North Air Ambulance, and Minnesota Department of Transportation.
