Apprentice-Journeyman Lineworker
Constructs and maintains overhead and underground electrical distribution lines in a safe, reliable, and timely manner. Carries out daily work, implements process improvements, suggests new ideas, and proactively identifies and resolves problems. Requires Line Technician Certificate from a certified vocational school and working toward completion of Apprentice Lineman/Power Line Technician Training program. Distribution Designer
Designs electric services for existing and new/prospective members in order to meet their electric service requirements. Designs an electrical distribution system that ensures reliability in an economical and environmentally acceptable manner to meet RUS requirements, permit procedures, the National Electrical Safety Code, and cooperative policies. Prepares and maintains engineering records and maps to control inventory, direct crews, and determine billing. Distribution Engineer
Designs electric services (single and three-phase), construction work plan projects, and works on road relocation jobs, and other projects as needed for MVEC and Minnesota Valley Utility Services. Designs an electrical distribution system that ensures reliable service in an economical and environmentally acceptable manner to meet RUS requirements, permit procedures, the National Electrical Safety Code, and cooperative policies. Prepares and maintains engineering records and maps to control inventory, direct crews, and determine billing. Requires BS degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering. Electrical GIS Analyst
Creates Geographic Information System for MVEC’s electric distribution system, utilizing industry-leading software programs. Responsible for developing map views and layouts. Will perform basic level GIS network and spatial analysis and maintain or improve links to other software packages to maximize reliability, efficiency, safety, and system performance. Requires BS degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or related field and knowledge of GIS platforms, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ESR software suite, including ArcGIS. Electrical Power Engineer
Will support MVEC and Minnesota Valley Utility Services electrical engineering needs. Provides day-to-day technical support in planning, distributed energy resources, substations, and general engineering. Develops and implements load control strategies to positively impact rates and power supply. Requires BS degree in electrical engineering with power emphasis from an ABET-accredited university.
