MVEC provides electric service to 35,000+ members in an 898-square-mile service area, covering portions of nine counties: Blue Earth, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Le Sueur, Rice, Scott, Sibley, and Waseca. Assigned service areas are subject to Public Utility Commission jurisdiction.
Under MVEC’s Bylaws, district boundaries are drawn according to population and equal board representation. Following elections at the June 13, 2012 Annual Meeting, there will be three directors representing each district.
